Bridging Home is Potter’s House Mission’s short-term, dignified housing pathway for senior women (60+) who need a safe place to stabilize before transitioning to permanent housing. Designed as part of our STEPS™ framework (Strengthening Transitions for Elders to Age in Place Safely), Bridging Home recognizes that housing stability takes time—and that older adults deserve safety, respect, and choice during that process.
Available Units & Housing Options
Participants may rent one of the following unit types at our West Philadelphia location:
All units are intended for residential use only and provide a calm, secure environment where participants can rest, regroup, and plan next steps toward permanent housing.
Occupancy & Program Expectations
Participants in Bridging Home enter into a Housing Stabilization Occupancy Agreement, rather than a permanent lease. This agreement outlines the terms of occupancy, monthly housing charges, length of stay, and community standards for living in the residence.
Bridging Home is not a shelter and does not operate with shelter-style restrictions. Instead, it serves as a bridge—supporting older women as they prepare for permanent housing through Potter’s House Mission or other community-based options.
A Pathway Forward
While residing in Bridging Home, participants may work with staff through the STEPS™ framework to address documentation, benefits, health needs, income stabilization, and housing navigation—at their own pace and by choice.
Bridging Home ensures that senior women are not just housed temporarily, but supported thoughtfully as they move toward long-term stability and the ability to age in place safely and with dignity.
Each unit is offered through a Housing Stabilization Occupancy Agreement and is designed to provide a safe, private, and supportive environment while participants prepare for permanent housing.
