For more than 22 years, Potter’s House Mission (PHM) has provided a “home” to support women and their children experiencing homelessness to achieve stability and well-being. Within the past two years, recognizing another significant and worsening community need, PHM’s mission has expanded to currently, a program called Distinguished Women 60+, maintaining our focus that thrives on serving and supporting those in need.
To date, PHM has been instrumental in supported over 184 families to obtain permanent housing, distributed hundreds of Thanksgiving Day baskets and thousands of toys and school supplies to the children of PHM and our surrounding neighborhood in of West and Southwest Philadelphia.
PHM has assisted our residents in not only obtaining housing but has supported them in restoring their dignity and self-worth, by encouraging the life skill tools and resources through our social services programs to become self-sufficient, resilient, and confident.
PHM continues to develop and employ an assortment of activities and resources specially designed to support and accommodate the unique needs of our Distinguished Women 60+ program, from cultivating the arts, mental and physical health workshops, socialization with each other in game and movie nights, classy and creative workshops, additional activities and group meetings aimed to enlighten and enrich their mind and spirits.
Potter’s House Mission will continue to be a “Light in the Community in which we Serve “.
